Hope: A Cord that Binds

I wanted to really delve into what HOPE is all about, and I was surprised to find that the Hebrew of the Old Testament uses fifteen different words all translated as “hope”. (The Greek of the New Testament only uses two.) Interestingly, the Old Testament begins and ends with the same kind of “hope”. The word literally means a cord, as an attachment. Figuratively it implies expectancy. It’s from another word meaning “to bind together”. We can have great expectancy or hope when we bind ourselves together with the Lord!
